Eyes on Madhya Pradesh polls, Kamal Nath to host Baba Bageshwar's event
MP Congress president Kamal Nath has planned a grand event with self-styled godman Dhirendra Krishna Shastri from August 5 to 7 in Chhindwara.
Madhya Pradesh Congress president and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath is set to hold a grand event by the head priest of Bageshwar Dham, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, in his constituency, Chhindwara, in the poll-bound state.
The religious event is slated for August 5 to 7. The event will take place on a ground near the Simariya Hanuman temple, which has a 108-foot-high idol of the Hindu deity.
At the time, Kamal Nath’s visit had irked BJP leaders, who said the Congress was showing double standards since some of its leaders were opposed to Shastri. The Congress had retorted by saying that the BJP cannot monopolise Hinduism.
Dhirendra Krishna Shastri or Baba Bageshwar is the head of Bageshwar Dham in Garha village of Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district. Many of his followers believe that he writes scrolls that reveal a person's past and desires.
